New Year, New Routines

I'm Back! 

And with new adventures and stories to share! First off, I would just like to say that in addition to sharing my photography projects I am also going to be working on sharing some more of my life experiences on my blog! This is a new part of my blog that I have had some mixed feelings about for a while. Sharing my personal experiences and stories have always been a terrifying thought. However, new year new me right? Or new year same me because I'm still pretty lame. 

Since this is my first blog of 2018 and I'm writing this very spontaneously at 11:00 pm instead of finishing my assignments for class I'm going to share some of the new health routines I have found myself following. 

ESSENTIAL OILS



Yeah, when I said health routines you probably thought I meant diet and exercise routines didn't you? Sorry guys but ya girl loves watching Netflix and eating tacos a little to much to change. ( although going to the gym and eating a salad once in a while would probably help solve a good portion of my health issues). 

By health routines I really meant mental health routines. I've had anxiety issues for as long as I can remember. I have anxieties about everything. Like, literally everything. Since I moved away from my hometown I really feel like my anxieties have just grown worse. Which I mean if you think about it, it isn't unusual for anxieties to grow when you leave the comfort of your hometown. But it's getting to the point where my anxieties control my life. 

I learned about essential oils a while back and have been wanting to try them for a while now. With the help of my mother I finally was able to invest in a set of oils and a diffuser. I am still new to the world of essential oils so i am still learning what I should be using them for. But I find myself using lavender a lot because its a great stress relief aroma. So far I love my diffuser and my oils. 

LAVA BRACELET


 I've had my lava bracelet for literally 24 hours now and I literally am so in love with it that I had to include it. So for those of you who haven't heard of a lava bracelet, it is made from lava rocks which are apparently really good at absorbing oils. So you just put a few drops of your favorite oil on your lava bracelet and it works wonders like a diffuser. My mom gave me my lava bracelet as a gift. One of my biggest anxieties deals with driving. So my mom hoped that if I used my bracelet I would be a little less stressed out about driving. Last night was the first night I had my bracelet and I used lavender on it. I don't know if maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me or if maybe I just wasn't as anxious because I was with my family, but I spent almost the whole night not worrying about anything and it was amazing.

So guys, I haven't been using these oils and routines long enough to say yes this is definitely working for me. But so far I am in love with this life choice and I would say if you are thinking about embarking on the journey of essential oil use then do it! Essential oils are good for mental health and they even have actual health benefits to.
